Self-Assessment Reflection Paper
The future of education is dependent on the administrator(s) ability to lead second order change if we are seriously considering the future of education, schools, and schooling in the United States of American. Leading second order change is a challenge at Manhattan School of Computer Technology. Moreover, educational leaders at MSCT must understand how the future will unfold. Therefore, our educational leaders must find innovative ways to meet the challenges this new technological dispensation is bringing with it. The purpose of this paper is to present a self-assessment reflection on the lack of leadership support for second order change at MSCT.

Moreover, some essential leadership responsibilities are required for second order change in schools. For example, the leadership of the school must set clear objectives; roles must be clearly identified with responsibilities given to each team member. Also, these responsibilities must be distributed according to the available skills in the team. Grunefeld, Van Tartwijk and Jongen (2015) argues that leadership that is not supported prevents schools from rightfully utilizing a competency-based model. Therefore, the lack of support for leadership in educational institutions in the 21st century cannot be ignored. Miller (2014) makes clear the change in our education landscape, citing that students of today are born into a different world as compared to those of old.
