Epistemology is a component of philosophy that is concerned with the nature of knowledge. It attempts to make sense of the various dynamics of human intellectual achievements, including its nature, scope, presentation, and limitations. Epistemology tries to highlight the differences between knowledge and opinions, including the distinction between good and bad reasoning. My initial experience with this philosophy was during the NURS 530 course. I was not interested in the philosophy at the start of the semester. This might be because of the information I heard from previous students. However, in an ironic turn of events it became my favorite course since it stimulates my critical thinking in most occasions during the semester. I have acquired considerable knowledge, and I can present it as the chosen course in my first year as a Ph.D. student.
Evidently, the philosophy has changed my perception and outlook towards problems; hence, it has changed my personality. This is due to the fact that I am able to perceive issues in a new perspective that integrates various factors that were previously considered inconsequential in the overall outcomes if events. I know the various ways of acquiring knowledge and exploring the nursing disciplines through comprehensive understanding of recent issues in research and history of knowledge development in nursing. All these topics were very interesting; consequently, I learned a lot. The critical aspect is that the previous topics have aided the organization of my thoughts and answered questions in the first evaluation that query the relationship between experiences and knowledge.
