Leadership is a position of responsibility. For some, the ability to be a leader comes naturally, while others may struggle to fill the position. To become a great leader, one must understand what the job entails. Primarily, a leader should be capable of guiding their team to success. In particular, two new ideas that stick with me are “What it means to be a Servant-Leader” and how to utilize a “SMART” goal. I did not know a servant-leader was a type of leadership at all. I had never heard of it. The power point us students had to create helped me understand what it means to be a servant-leader and why we should strive to be one. A servant-leader is the ideal type of guidance a group deserves. Similarly, I did not know what a “SMART” goal was until we covered it in a lesson. The project we completed helped me set up a goal to learn how to sew. I completed my goal in my free time because I now had a plan on how to complete it. I believe “SMART” goals are not only important for leaders, but for college students as well because of our hectic schedule. This goal-making process appears to be a key for success in life. Both lessons will aid me as time goes
