Session #1 In our first session, we were enthusiastically greeted by Mrs. Amerman who spent the beginning of class introducing herself. We learned that prior to her current job she was a park ranger, and is currently enrolled in school to get a doctorates degree therefore can relate to students having to balance school, a job, and their personal lives. Afterwards she moved on to tell us what her goal was, to help everyone who attends become a successful student. She continued with more tips to help up academically however due to having another class I was not able to stay the whole session. Mrs. Amerman positive and fun personality makes me look forward to the sessions. I expected the session to be boring but I was wrong. Amerman we took a survey that determined if we have testing anxiety. My score was 28, showing I do have testing anxiety but it is within a range that states that the stress level I exhibit is considered healthy. After our questionnaire, we continued our session reviewing test taking strategies with a 5-day test prep plan that helps you organize, review, and prepare. I enjoyed this session more than the last because the topic was relatable, not only to me but many other students. One of the things Mrs. Amerman went over that I usually don’t do is relax before a test. I usually stress, study, and cram. I plan on relaxing more and scheduling my study sessions to not overwhelm myself. Overall, this session was very beneficial, and once again I look forward to receiving more helpful information on our next session Session # 3
Session 3 consisted of detecting our strengths and weaknesses. We focused on using our strengths to our advantages and also focused on how to target our weaknesses in order to improve them. Amerman also went through proper interview adequate and
