The work environment has gone to many changes over the years and several of the major past issues has been solved by the unions. However, in my opinion unions are becoming irrelevant in today competitive global business environment. This is because of the fast-changing nature of work.

What principles could be offered as the basis for positive workplace relationships?
In my opinion, banning sex and sexuality for the reasons of protecting the employees is desirable. This is because if romantic relationship were allowed to occur in the working environment it would be difficult to pin point whether the relationship is real or if there are factors behind it. It could potential open ways of abuse of power within individuals of higher and lower positions. For example, a boss manipulating the employee to get a promotion or even pretending to have feelings for the employee in order to have sexual relations. This can cause a negative impact on individuals state of mind. There would be complications to solve cases of real sexual offense. This is because it would be more difficult to judge individual’s stories as one could claim to be consensual.
