Share Care is an online health and wellness engagement platform that, with the help of a short survey, will determine a person’s “real” age. The term real age is used here to mean something other than chronological age, which is an indication of the number of years since birth. Real age accounts for a number of voluntary life choices, as well as genealogical characteristics determined at birth. Based on my own answers to this quiz, and assuming that they were accurate, Share Care determined my real age to be fifteen years and zero months. This is four years younger than my actual age as of today, with even more room for improvement if I maintain my current lifestyle, making only a few suggested adjustments to my daily routine. This is by far the longest of the three sections, which serves as a compliment to me in terms of my aging. The majority of the information included in this portion of my health profile is in regard to the suitability of my fitness plan to my person. It says things like “Keep up the good work!” and “Keep saying no to junk food.”, the former being about the conditions of my strength training and cardiovascular activity. Research has shown that a healthy diet can reduce a person’s susceptibility to disease (Hillier & Barrow, 2015).
