Without animal testing, millions of dogs, cats, and farm animals would have died from anthrax, distemper, canine parvovirus, feline leukemia, and rabies. But because of animal testing, more than 200 diseases are now preventable! For years, people have been arguing whether or not animals should be tested because of the risk of death and the harm to animals involved. Every single human and animal cure has been discovered through animal testing. In 2009, Kevin Elliott was a guy who had a spinal problem. He said that he was in a lot of pain, and wasn’t able to work. However, thanks to animal research, Kevin had an operation where one of his bones was taken out of his pelvis and placed into his spine to reinforce it. Now, he is able to work and spend time with his friends and family. Kevin’s amazing cure is just one of the many reasons why animal testing should be allowed.

We know that animals have rights to protect them from mistreatments, however they are still not human. Human life has a higher value and worth than animal life. No animal possess all of the characteristics to the same degree as the average human. If animals were viewed as equal to human than we would not be killing them for food, or using them for helping with farming and labor. Most of the companies that use animals for testing treat them with significant care and dignity. Animals that are being used for testing cost significantly more than animals for simple farming and therefore they are usually taken care of
