Although it does seem disturbing to some people, many animals have been treated good with the fact that the AWA (Animal Welfare Act) have been keeping the animals safe with the Three R's (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement). The animals being tested on have been put in a controlled housing, and and have been replacing the number of animals used, for example, in passage 3 it states that "Replacement is when researchers use less animals to gather the same data (such as using 60 mice instead of 200 mice)". However, many can argue that animal testing does not have to happen, I can see where they are coming from since it does state in passage 2 that "Some scientists deliberately choose rats and fish, because they are not protected" and many have been mistreated or harmed in the act since the AWA does not protect them. In conclusion, animal testing should continue due to the fact that there are many cases where animals have helped find cures for diseases and there are many more diseases that are waiting to be
