Should the drinking age be lowered? Over the past several years, there have been the concern of should the drinking age be lowered back to 18 to being a consistent concern. When it comes to the age of 18 being able to purchase alcohol not being the best thought out decision of making it ok to do. This is only a setup for disaster as to them driving drunk to only either hurt or kill themselves to even vice versa happening to someone else due to wrong decision making of getting under the wheel under the influence. There is a public debate on lowering the legal age for drinking to be 18. The reason is because currently the drinking age is 21 and that continue to be the factor in not working to prevent youths from using alcohol and experiencing negative consequences of drinking.
