The importance of students learning about STDs should definitely be mandatory. Many teens across the United States aren’t aware of how risky having sex could be. There are over 20 types of sexually transmitted diseases and many ways to catch them. Many of these diseases are fatal and can not be cured. They feel like they should be the only ones educating their children about a topic so personal. Different families have different beliefs and they don’t feel comfortable with their children being taught something they don’t necessarily agree with. The truth of the matter is sex is sex no matter what you believe in. There are still going to be diseases, pregnancy and sex no matter what.
