Should Slavery Be Allowed Today

I do not agree with slavery. It is not right. If America is the land of the free why did we have slaves? George Washington and many other presidents had slaves but wanted freedom for all. It does not make any sense. People are people and it is not right to do them like that just because of their skin color. People can do stuff like that themselves. I can not believe so many people supported it. It would not pass today because people know better than to do all that now. If people get in really bad trouble for child labor, they will get in trouble just as worse if they had an entire thing of slaves to do all their work for them. I don’t know why they accepted it and allowed it to. The slavery issue back then also made us go to war with ourselves which made America look really bad. I do think that Missouri should have became a state with the slaves, however. It had enough people and everything that a state is supposed to have so i think it should have had statehood. First, because it is common sense that it is wrong. Second, that everyone knows better than to have slaves because of what it did to America. If slavery was to happen again, America will be at war with itself and we cannot afford to have a war like that. It makes America look bad and it can hurt relations with foreign powers against slavery. It could also start a war with a foreign power if they decide that they don’t like our actions. America cannot spend all the money on another war and a lot of soldiers would probably not fight with us if they did not agree with the government on
