I love showing up each week and seeing my friends while we sing, dance, and of course laugh. We have the privilege of great choreographers and a director who pushes us to be our best. Even when they criticize us, we know that it's only to help us improve. They teach us lessons not only about singing and dancing, but also about life. Emphasizing the idea of coming together as a team and working together will make us better in the end. I remember my director would say, “It’s a we thing, not a me thing.” Another aspect that I love is the performance. Being able to show off to friends and family the songs and choreography that you've been working on for months is an amazing feeling. But, you worry about making the wrong move or singing the wrong note. Yet, even if there is a flaw, nobody cares or notices. They are there to support you, so anything that goes wrong is unimportant. The best part is being complimented after the show for your effort. As I look back on my journey through show choir, the people I’ve met and the lessons it has taught me have helped me grow as a person and performer.
