The Silk Roads had many advantages and disadvantages. The silk road spread many things, most being bought using the barter system. Others were just gifts from other lands, such as disease, culture and religion. An example of this is the black plague. The disease originated in central Asia and made its way to Europe where it wiped out millions of people. The Silk Roads, named after its main good, traded many things. Rhubarb was traded and used as a medicinal herb.
