How does one transform oneself into a better person? This is the question that has riddled the minds of countless philosophers and sages throughout recorded history. This was especially apparent in pre-modern China where self-cultivation is central to many religious discourses. In the eyes of a Confucian or Daoist, self-cultivation is a critical step to achieving goals in life.
