One difference can be seen as to what happened to the two nations after their revolutions had ended. The French had been able to become stable after the revolution, with a naval and military power and Napoleon taking over. Haiti, on the other hand, had greatly struggled to maintain order after their revolution, and there was no stable government and economy. In turn, they had to look to France for help and they became dependent on them. Another reason they are different is because they each are a different revolution. Though the revolution was based around equality and the rights of men, the French Revolution was a political revolution while the Haitian Revolution was a social revolution. The revolution of the French had focused on the rights of men in government and politics, and their desire for power in those areas. The Haitians fought their revolution for their social rights as men for their living conditions were very rough and they had desire for change in their lives in general.
