Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry are both influential writers in the Revolutionary War era.
Both writers make valid and bold statements about the tranny that befell the colonies on the behalf of Great Britain. Each writer has a distinct style of the written word and each talks about sensitive topics of the time. Even though both writers talk about something similar each writing has an underlying topic of freedom.

The Declaration of Independence is quite possibly the most important document in the US history it declares the freedom from the Tyrannical ruler King George III of England. Jefferson starts out the famous document immediately with the demand that the US be free of England's rule. He then continues with the morale truths the US lives by “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” with all Jefferson's cards on the table he continues by attacking the laws and questionable wisdom of his country's current oppressor. “The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.” After a number of unjustified laws are listed Jefferson states “In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury.” Which is then followed by Jefferson declaring that the US is a free
