The Crucible and The Holocaust consisted of innocent people being executed because of beliefs that were not driven by hardcore evidence. Salem and Nazi Germany were two different judgmental places. Nazis took Jewish people and put them in concentration camps in which they were tortured, experimented on, and killed. The Salem Witch Trials also consisted of many deaths. In Salem people were put on trial for witch craft based on behaviors that they had that were not considered normal. For example, in The Crucible Betty, Abigail and Tituba were dancing in the woods at midnight and that was not normal so they were accused of witchcraft and put on trial. Within The Holocaust there was hatred against a one group of people. In The Crucible/Salem Witch Trials people were not as stable with fears as people are now and reveled in the executions of people they did not like based on their false accusations. Both of the major bumps in history caused major traumas to society in multiple ways. Innocent people were guilty without being proven guilty for actual crimes. They were guilty or things that were not even criminal but instead were considered criminal based off of unsteady beliefs. This is so important to know because lives have been taken away from men, women, and children. Future generations need to be aware of the significance of both events.
