The Sioux lived in the Great Plains, the Great Plains were located in North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. The weather in the Great Plains was fair, It get freezing cold in the winters and hot and sweaty in the summers. Located in the Great Plains was the Black Hills. The Black Hills were very sacred to the Sioux People, It also caused lots of troubles between them and George A. Custer and his 7th Cavalry. There are a lot of stories and legends, and tall tales on how Sioux Tribe came to be. But the most known one to the Sioux was the Wind of the Cave. They have lots of stories as to how they came to be. A lot of these stories have to do with animals, like buffalo, and deer, which is why some people think they like hunting
