There are some big differences between the main characters in the book If I Ever Get Out Of Here and the film Smoke Signals. One big difference between the novel and the film is that in the novel one main character, named George, is white and is an army kid, the other main character, named Lewis, is a native American and lives on the reservation. In the film, both the main characters are native American and live on the reservation. Another difference is that in the novel, both characters want to be friends with each other. In the film, one of the characters wants to be friends but the other doesn’t. The character, named Victor, gets really annoyed with the other, whose name is Thomas. It isn’t until the end of the film that they become friends.
