SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER (SAD)
Social Anxiety Disorder (also known as Social Phobia) is when certain social or performance situations are completely avoided due to fear of being judged by or embarrassed in front of others. Someone with Social Anxiety Disorder will try to avoid all social situations, preventing him/her to be able to productively carry out and enjoy day-to-day life.

Adolescents who are particularly shy or social inhibited are most at risk. In children, clingy behaviour, shyness, cries easily and excessive timidity (lacking in confidence, courage or bravery) can indicate temperaments that could possibly risk them into developing social phobia.
Family history- Social Anxiety Disorder can run in the family. A predisposition may come from a family history of Social Anxiety Disorder and influence attitude and behaviour towards social situations.
