Now a day’s Social Engineering attacks are increasing as cyber attacks. The most recent data breach was recorded as a reason of remains of hacking and malware. Social engineering attacks are quite easy compared to severe data breach.

One of the examples of social engineering attacks is the FBI. A hacker called the help desk and had the following conversation:

“So, I called [the helpdesk] up, told them I was new and I didn’t understand how to get past [the portal],” the hacker told Motherboard. “They asked if I had a token code, I said no, they said that’s fine—just use our one. I clicked on it and I had full access to the computer.””

Soon after the conversation the hacker got access to over 20,000 records that included of FBI and Department of homeland security. Hacker also got information about the credit card …show more content…
Baiting is usually seen in peer to peer sharing websites like new movies, tracks or something where you can download the latest movies. When downloading a file there a chances of downloading the malware. Never respond to spam emails which question you about any forums or surveys you were never asked previously.

Watering hole : Watering hole includes loss of data on a huge scale or bulk data, like loss of employees information.

Phishing : Phishing is an attack where sensitive information is lost like username, password, credit card number, social security number etc.

Social engineering threats related to cryptocurrency ;

In this attack the hacker gets access by service provider to give access to phone or any linked devices on multiple accounts. As soon as the hacker gains access over the users account he takes everything from the users cryptocurrency wallet. Apart from access to wallet the hackers are also trying to infect the cryptocurrency mining.
