In order to answer the research questions I created, I needed participants in order to show results. The research design I created was for MSW students in the Practice and Program Evaluation course to discover if their education from Aurora University has fully prepared them in taking the LSW licensure exam. The study would discover if faculty, professors, and/or advisors has prepared the students and if they feel confident. Do these students have the proper preparation and tools needed to pass the LSW exam with confidence? To add, the faculty, advisors, and/or professors would have feedback on how they can better prepare the students enrolled in the Masters of Social Work program for taking their LSW exam and passing. While determining the needs of helping MSW students prepare for the LSW exam with results from the survey, a practice test bank will be beneficial to students. The focus of this intervention was to identify if providing students with the ASWB test preparation will help students pass their licensure exam, in addition, give them confidence in taking the exam. The ASWB Masters Exam Guide is a proven preparation test material tool that most students use and successfully pass the exam. The study will attest to the knowledge of students prior to graduation having a clear understanding of licensure preparation for the LSW exam. This will also measure their confidence of taking the exam. The study is important because most social work career jobs require individuals to have their license in social work. Without licensure preparation, social work students will lack knowledge of the requirements for the exam, causing, a lack of confidence in taking the LSW exam.
