Coming from a military family, I can definitely see, firsthand, the impact that socialization has on individuals, especially during basic training in the military. This reading places a large emphasis on the training that potential United States Marines or members of the United States Army undergo, and this challenging process can have both positive and negative aspects. To begin, I define socialization to mean the ability to teach others how to understand and accept the ways of our society, in every way possible.
