My project addressed the issues of girls who want to play softball but may not have the means to purchase the necessary equipment or girls who were first time players and may not have known what size equipment to buy. Since I partnered with Peachtree City Girl’s Softball Association (PTCGSA), most of the girls I helped in my project were local to my city, Peachtree City. My project advisor was Greg Lanman who is a director of the Peachtree City Girls Softball Association. He has been on the PTCGSA board for 4 years and has two daughters who also play softball. Over the past four years, he has put in a lot of energy and time into the PTCGSA softball program from dragging and lining the fields during the seasons to working the concession stand which is why he was the most appropriate and impactful person to …show more content…
I had a group of people assist me with the process. I had to tell them what to clean, how to clean it and where to put it after it was cleaned. Since I needed the help from everybody on the board which is about 15 people, I had to instruct the members on the board on what to do to help in order to get the results that I wanted. Even when I was directing them, I was friendly and helpful to all the softball coaches, softball players and parents while my team & I helped them find equipment. I was also considerate and caring to all the people who donate equipment, money or time to this project since I could not have accomplished this project without their help. Because of the considerate people who donated equipment, I was able to collect 10 facemasks 2 of which were brand new, 10 softball bags 3 of which were brand new, 14 normal gloves and 1 catcher’s glove, 6 knee guards 2 of which were brand new, 14 batting gloves, 46 helmets, 4 catcher’s chest pads, 5 catcher masks, 6 pairs of catchers shine guards, 1 bat weight and 32
