Sojourner Truth was a strong and brave women. First, she was sold into slavery at nine years old to a violent farmer, Jon Neely. Next, Sojourner spoke in big crowds about women rights and to bring an end to slavery. Last, she helped recruit African-American soldiers to fight for the Union in the American Civil war.
