Sound in films today has come a long way since its inception in the 1920’s. Despite a rough start, it has revolutionized filmmaking. Which was quite possibly what brought the film industry out of extinction. The right use of sounds will provide us with a story better story. Diegetic, Foley, and music are all example of sounds used to product spatial and temporal dimension in films.
Sound is so important to a film, that it is the longest part of the production process. It take longer to get it right, than the shooting itself (Barsam and Monahan 392).
