Having colonies in places like southern North America, South America, and Caribbean islands, the Spanish were able to profit greatly off of the many resources that they had claimed and stolen such as gold and silver from the Aztecs and Incas [18]. Their thievery had made them very rich. However, they were also able to profit by themselves (without having to steal from the native people). The New World provided a rich and diverse collection of different crops such as potatoes, pineapples, and tobacco. Some of these crops were very easy to grow, and settlers could create large plantations since they had cheap labor from the slave trade and the right climate and land to form these massive farms where they could grow crops to sell and trade back to the new world. The New World had changed up the products that were sold and traded, and the new demand for these resources helped the economy for the spanish colonists to flourish. The Spanish stole and grew crops on large plantations, but the English had to use other ways to get a living. They lived up in the northeast where there were cold seasons and rocky soil, making farming very difficult. They were unable to have large plantations with mass crop production, but they were able to have small farms and developed by exporting goods like grains [56]. Their region had lots of available land and trees, and they became very strong shipbuilders. Along with these ships, they were able to utilize the local water source (the Atlantic Ocean) and caught tons of cod which made them very wealthy. [74]. They were able to trade with Europe, Africa,as well as other colonies (England later regulated this through Navigation Laws) through Triangular trade which refers to the triangular shaped path between the 3 continents, very similar to the Spanish Columbian
