I have decided to pursue a degree in special education. I chose this career path because of how many people have told me I have a gift, I can honestly say that they were right. Not only did I listen to my peers, even my teachers but I followed my heart and felt that I really did belong with the kids who had special needs. They really show me what it's like to be a special education teacher and to be able to change one person's life is an extraordinary thing any person can do. Josef my careers in education teacher has been the most influential person who has helped me through things i've needed. A person who has a gift can pursue a career in the special education degree but there are things that all special education teachers need to know and it’s that we need to be very patient, also, it can be a difficult field but it takes a special person to do that. Not only did Mrs. Josef help me but so did all my peers, and other teachers, they have pushed me to the best of ability and to really point me in the right direction. I've had some very special people who have came in my life and to know that teachers, staff, and other students think highly of me, is an amazing feeling. I have dedicated so much time and more to those students, I know the kids look up to me as a role model. I’m honored to know that I am important person in these people's life. Working in the special education wing is not easy and having experienced myself is definitely not as easy as everyone thinks it could be. All the students at the Lapeer Education Technology Center special education wing, all the kids have a disability that they have to deal with for the rest of their lives. But let me tell you that the kids are so smart, and intelligent and really have an impact on your heart. I've had a privilege to work with them and I cannot be anymore grateful or that. The students have taught me things I never thought I could be capable of, not only do you learn things from the teachers, but the students and the classroom itself. The atmosphere in the rooms are so bright and calm, it just makes you feel that you have special place in those students
