In every sport there is a place on the athlete’s body that could result in serious injury if not protected. Since every year there are more athletes more injuries are occurring every year. Athletes need to wear more gear to prevent serious injuries occurring. In many cases, injuries involve the growth plate of the bone getting damaged. If it is seriously damaged, your bones will stop growing. Also you can see in soccer that players kicks range from the ground all the way to the top of a person's head. A piece of evidence shows that if a player is not wearing a shin guard or a good shin guard and he gets kicked in the shin the bone most likely will crack and it will take over half a year or longer for it to heal. We need to find a way to eliminate, or at least reduce concussions significantly from sports. A reason I say this is because a study showed that over 300,000 athletes suffer sport related concussions. But a man ,Gerard Gioia , said the number of sport related injuries might actually be over 3 million. Also concussions are ruining sports. One good example is that many athletic players, from young to adults, are thinking about quitting, the sport they play, or did quit because they were scared too scared to receive concussions or they suffered a concussion and it changed their life.
