Concussions have become a highly debated topic over the years, due to increased awareness of the risks associated with them occurring to athletes. Some believe concussions will never truly go away stating that their “apart of the game.” Professional leagues have begun implementing policies to protect their athletes from suffering from the long term effects, but this will only help those who suffer from concussions or the symptoms. To truly stop concussions, leagues should implement new rules that force athletes to play safer. The rules should get rid of anything in the sport that seems excessive in violence. Requiring athletes to wear all essential equipment. Professional athletes tend to go around rules to gain a competitive advantage this should effectively end that. To those who use methods detrimental to the other athletes, penalties that revoke money should be considered based on the severity of the reckless action.
