She dedicated her life to religion work. She was venerated in the Catholic Roman church and was beatified on November 13th, 1938 by Pope Pius XI. She was canonized July 7th of 1946 by Pope Pius XI. Her feast day is December 2nd. She founded the missionary sisters of The Sacred Heart, which supported many Italian immigrants to the USA. She was the first naturalized citizen of the USA to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church on July 7th, 1946. In her lifetime she made 23 transatlantic crossings and established 67 institutions.
