According to studies, it is estimated that assaults on women by partners range from approximately two million to four million annually in the United States. I personally think two to four million is an extremely high number when it comes to domestic violence and its completely uncalled for. These numbers should not be this high and its sad to think that there are people who don’t report domestic violence attacks because they fear what is going to happen to them. Another fact that I came across while researching facts about domestic violence is that about one out of every four women in America will be physically assaulted or raped by an intimate partner at some point in their lives. Stalking can be identified by things along the lines of unwanted phone calls, letters, or emails; spying or following the victim place to place; or leaving unwanted items. When it comes to stalking, within a year, fourteen out of one thousand people who are eighteen or older were victims of stalking. Once again, I think this is a very high number and I don’t think that stalking is taken as serious as it should be. Victims of stalking are constantly wondering if it is safe to walk outside of their home or if it’s safe to walk to their car from a building without someone with them. When you look at the facts about stalking, one in twelve women in the United States are stalked in their lives and surprisingly one in forty-five men have or will be stalked at some point in their lives. It is even scarier for the fact that most victims know their stalker in most of the stalking cases. However, being a victim of stalking myself, I know what it is
