If you were a colonist who had to pay taxes every time you bought a paper item, what would you do? In 1763-1765, there was a French and Indian War. That war led to the soldiers needing money for more supplies. The government passed an illegal tax, called the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act wasn’t fair because it was illegal, it wasn't fair to have to illegally pay that tax, it wasn’t fair, and it was very rude that some of the citizens had to pay 1,400,000 pounds consistently. The Stamp Act was not justified for those reasons.
