A Fifteen year old African American male, David Chance was shot and killed by thirty seven year old, Harris Armstrong. Mr.Armstrong claimed to have shot and killed fifteen year old David Chance out of self-defence. Mr.Armstrong’s words were “he aggressively approached me with a large piece of wood, when I was on my way home.” He was not charged for the murder of fifteen year old David Chance. “The ‘Stand Your Ground’ law causes an additional seven hundred murders each year nationwide. Due to the stereotyping of African American males, more crime has taken place because of the continuing negativity surrounding the race. For instance, “homicides has doubled for African Americans due to racial profiling.” (Jesse Jackson). Racial profiling refers to decimation due to law enforcements by targeting citizens by their race.
