In forensics there are many technologies used to find the answers to questions that arise during investigations. Forensic teams have ways of using DNA to find out who was present at murder scenes, they can use fingerprinting to find the identity of people which in turn can be used in a conviction; these are just two of many technologies that are used every day. But what if something that doesn’t even exist in real life could be made and used to help forensic teams with their investigations and make their job slightly easier? What if something that only exists on television could actually be useful if it existed in real life?

For it to be used in the case of DNA and identifying people. For this to be made possible, there would need to be a system set up where everyone in the world had a sample of their DNA taken, their fingerprints taken a copy of their ID; including picture, address, phone number etc. taken and not everyone is going to want that. People would technically have the right to withhold things as it is their personal information and they may not want just anyone being able to get a hold of all of their information with the use of one machine. For it to be used in the case of cargo being checked they would have to make sure that the machine knew exactly what the weapon was so that it wouldn’t pick up on certain things just looking like weapons, for example boxes being placed and it accidently looking like a certain weapon and the machine picks up on it and time is then wasted. With the machine picking up on heat signatures it would probably have to have a built in scanner to decipher between animals and humans in case there is an animal that has managed to get into the cargo or in the case of animal carriers e.g. horse trucks the machine would go off and it would be a reaction to the animals and not because of any
