SUBJECT: State Controller debate at Save Mart Center
I am excited to announce that there will be debate prior to the November 4th California State Controller election. This debate will give you the chance to get to know the candidates and understand their points of view.
The debate will be held in the Save Mart Center on October 25, 2014. You may park in any CSUF campus lot or you may park on the street. There will be no charge for parking. The debate will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m.
The event is free for all CSUF students with a valid CSUF identification card; otherwise, it will cost $5 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12. All proceeds from the event will go to the CSUF Alumni Association.
The debate will be between Ashley Swearengin and Betty Yee. Anchor and Managing Editor of ABC World News, David Muir, will moderate the debate.
The republican candidate for State Controller is Ashley Swearengin. She was elected mayor of Fresno, California in 2008 and re-elected in 2012. She is a California State University, Fresno Alumni. While enrolled at our school she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
The democratic candidate for State Controller is Betty Yee. She was elected to the State Board of Equalization in 2006 and re-elected
