Employment for registered nurses is projected to grow 16 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. The demand for healthcare service have also increased. With that being said, it is more easy to become a registered nurse. In contrast, Medical assistants is projected to grow 23 percent from 2014 to 2024. Medical assistants are also quite needed. Apart from being satisfied with my job, being financially stable has always been something I long for. Registered Nurses earn an average of $67,490 per year. Which is a satisfactory amount for the work needed. The average amount for a medical assistant is $30,590 per year. This is very low and unacceptable for a career that doesn’t leave much room for open doors and a higher income.
After much thoughts, becoming a registered nurse will be a more suited career for me than medical assistant due to the mere fact of schooling, job description and job outlook. I need to come into work with a smile on my face that I have made the right decision, and that can only happen if I become a registered nurse. While obtaining more knowledge needed, I want to be of help to anyone unsure of a career path. I’m excited to see myself couple year from now, lavished in happiness, knowing I have made the right
