SHOULD COLLEGE ATHLETES BE COMPENSATION?
College athletics has skyrocketed in popularity over the past few decades. This has caused a sharp increase of revenues for certain universities and the NCAA in which has incite the debate on whether college athletes should be compensated beyond the money in form on his or her athletic scholarship. College athletes should not be paid due to the face they here already being paid in form over an athletic scholarship that covers tuition. Meal plans, free board among other things. In fact a scholarships can cost over $100, 000-$200, 000 over a span of 4 years depending on the university. Playing in college is and should be a privileges for this

Of course baseball players can be drafted straight out of high school, or play semi-pro. While track athletes can join a track club, also straight out of high school, making them as professionally athlete as well. But what about the main two sports, in football and basketball? Can they do the same thing? Many people believe that student athletes should be compensation in from on money due to his or her value on the market. This is meant especially for football and basketball players. But that is not true, they are not worth anything until they declare for the draft or decide to go professional (or if they run out of college eligibility). Also, there are ways that these young student athletes can get to the pros without the burden of feeling “expose” by the NCAA. NBA prospects only need to be one year removed from high school. Many of course, decide to go on to play one year in college, but some players including Brandon Jennings ,who was a first round pick in 2009 and Emmmual Midday presently, chose a different path. Both decide to play one year in countries such as Italys and China professionally before they declared for the NBA. This could also work for football players as well, Bryce Brown, who is currently in the NFL, had some ideas about playing semi-pro football in Canadian , seeing their age limited was low enough so that he could play. But he decided to sign with the University of Tennessee. (Dirlam 4) There are more examples, with many of the guys choosing the route that Brown took, due to the lack of exposure and talent playing overseas and semi-pro leagues. But there are other ways to the pros for these
