A patient’s home is a very personal and private environment, so the nurse must show respect for the patient and their family when giving care. Receiving care in the home meant that the patient could maintain a sense of control and restored meaning and purpose to life (Zamanzadeh, et al., 2015). The patient’s personal directive stated that he would prefer to receive care in the home, to fulfill his goals of care, the patient required access to health care services. Receiving home-based palliative care is highly dependent on the availability of healthcare system resources and social support network.
