New and clever inventions come out daily. The article “Drive-Ins: The Last Great Picture Show,” by Melissa Shaw-Smith explains Hollingshead's invention. Drive-in theaters appealed to families because of the comfort and tranquility that they didn’t receive in a normal movie theater. Drive-in theaters appeal to most people, especially families. For example, Hollingshad says “... Here the whole family is welcome, regardless of how noisy the children are apt to be. the aged and infirm will find the drive-in a boon” (paragraph 4). In this example, Hollingshead provides an instance of noisy children during the movie that would no longer be a disturbance, making for more comfort. Comfortability isn’t the only appealing aspect of drive-in theaters.
