Glory Recruiting black soldiers did not begin until 1700’s up to the mid 1800’s were blacks joined forces with white. The story of the movie glory was based on fighting for slavery that was going on in the south by black men from the north who were called the 54th. The movie reveals the fifty fourth Massachusetts regiment and depicts the brutal and barbaric combat of man to man that was used during the civil war. The movie is comprised of freed black men fighting for their country that put many people in doubt as to whether there was such a need of black regiment and whether they are capable of fighting. The movie portrays the aspects of the civil war. It reveals the cruel realities that the soldiers experienced to a point the movie’s accurate description is like historical testimony. From the beginning colonel Shaw trained black regiment to fight relentlessly in the war. Commander officer Shaw’s strict and serious move towards training the regiment highlights the importance of endurance and alertness that made the appearance of the movie to be master/slave relationship with discipline that is essential and expected in a war. Colonel Shaw’s strong will and determination made the men of the fifty-fourth regiment run like a military in a short time regardless of the people against Massachusetts regiment. In the beginning men of the fifty-fourth regiment signed up to fight saying they were fighting for their country but in reality makes you wonder if they were fighting for the north or fighting in revenge of the white soldiers who enslaved them for so many years.
