“Woman Hollering Creek” by Sandra Cisneros, is a story of domestic violence between a wife and her abusive husband. The story begins presumably in Monclova, Coahuila, when Cleófilas was given permission by her father to marry Juan Pedro. Soon after the confirmation of their marriage, Cleófilas and Juan Pedro relocated to Seguin, Texas where Juan Pedro is employed. After having crossed the line into solitude and sorrow, so to speak, the malignance of Juan Pedro had begun and grown.
