Academically, I have always been a very determined and studious individual, hence why I knew that a law degree at University would be the definite next step. I have a broad interest in many subject areas yet feel drawn towards a law or political orientated degree. As I study politics currently, I interact daily with a complex and intriguing subject. I particularly enjoy the way politics integrates other topics within society. Since taking the subject at A-Level my interest has grown and matured and I am able to view many aspects within society analytically and make suggestions regarding possible improvements.
Law is an area which has interested me from an early age. I enjoy extensive reading and recognise that this is essential in studying law. I consider myself to be well suited to a career in law as I pay much attention to detail and take pleasure in undergoing work which raises social issues in today’s society and requires the skill to manipulate evidence and present persuasive arguments. I also believe that the Psychology A-Level I study has aided me in observing the actions of others and how their opinions and memories are influenced by external factors. This area of work requires much confidence which I believe I possess and can use to my advantage in order to gain recognition in this competitive field of work.
The next step after college would be to continue to further education and to study a straight law degree at University. My ultimate goal is to practice law as a solicitor in a high profile law firm.
My secondary school experience includes being form representative to being senior prefect in Year 11. I was also senior prefect for the P.E department and by doing this I was able to run clubs for younger students and organise sports trips. For my varied extra- curricular activities in PE, I was recognised as the student of the year for PE at my secondary school and this resulted achieving the ‘PE award 2014’. I have also enjoyed communicating in German at a high level which I developed at school. Through this I was able to help set up a school link with a school in Amburg, where various student exchange trips took place.
My hobbies include sporting activities such as football, which I have been playing for over 10 years, (this includes playing for Tottenham Hotspur Ladies for 5 years and Bealoanians Fc currently). I enjoy these activities because by working in teams, they bring out the best in people and I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting people. Being captain of both football teams has taught me that leadership can be a very demanding role and without supporting team mates, this role can become harder. I am aware that Arnold & Porter strongly advocate for diversity within the work place, and was pleasantly impressed that you have provided a brochure which highlights your diverse nature as well as the awards you have achieved for being a diverse work place. As I have played football as a female, I have faced head on the reality that the sport is male dominated and I have worked alongside others to ensure that more women are encouraged to
