Sun Kim better known as Chloe Kim was born April 23, 2000 in Long Beach, California. Kims nationality is American. Kim started snowboarding at the age of four, when her father took her to California's Mountain High resort. At the age of eight, Kim went to live with an aunt in Switzerland where her love for snowboarding grew. As a third grader, she was on the Swiss snowboard team. In the eighth grade, Kim started homeschooling. Kim plans to attend college, perhaps Harvard University, in order to prepare for the future. Kim had a boyfriend who in fact was also an Olympic snowboarder, but due to certain hardships in the relationship she broke it off. According to Kim though her and the snowboarder are still “good friends”. She is currently single. Now let move on to her family. Kim's mother is Boran Yun and her father is Jong Jin Kim. Yun and Jong Jin met while in Switzerland. Kim's two older sisters, Tracy and Erica, are a product of Jong Jin's first marriage, which ended in divorce. Kim currently lives in La Palma, a city in Orange County California . Kim's dad …show more content…
At the age of six Kim joined Mountain High snowboarding team and competed at such a young a age. Then at the age of eight years old she went to go live with her aunt in Switzerland where her love for the sport increased. It was not till the age of eleven years old that Kim was truly recognized. She did many sponsorships with brands like Nike, Toyota, Visa, Samsung, and ect. Kim now works as an athlete for the US Olympic snowboarding team. Kim had many accomplishments both before and after joining the olympic team. In 2015 Kim won gold at the X Games.In 2016 Kim earned two more gold medals (one at the X Games is Aspen, and the other in Oslo). She also participated in the Youth Olympic Games where she won halfpipe and slopestyle snowboarding gold medals. Lastly, at the 2018 Olympics she was the youngest female to win an Olympic gold
