A topic I picked was Sunflowers (series): An Analysis of Vincent van Gogh. From watching the vilm in class Vincent van Gogh he was always depressed. With Vincent van Gogh having bipolar disorder and depression. Throughout his whole life people thought he was a crazy man. Which was sadly true since he had a difficult time dealing with his mental illness. By drinking a lot and not caring about the way he ate. Before Van Gogh had met someone who he had fallen for, he was a normal man that did not seem to be crazy. Until he thought by cutting off his left ear and giving it to his ex lover of a prostitute. Lucky enough Theo was an Art dealer, not only did Theo help sell Vincent’s art. He was there for emotional support when Vincent needed it the most. Vincent would write to Theo everyday and even send a preview of what he would paint next. When Theo would write back to Vincent, he would either agree with Van Gogh’s drawing and tell him what price those paintings should go for. Watching this documentary about Van Gogh it had given me a new aspect on how he lived his life and some of his madness about the paintings. After Van Gogh’s death his art work had sky rocketed with their prices. It is crazy to think how ones art can increase in price and even more in price if the artist has committed suicide.
