Long ago, women had a very tough and hard life because of their desire for equal rights. Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton were two women who advocated for the improvement of women, since they lacked inalienable rights. The women’s suffrage movement was changed by these two independent women who sought to change and better women's lives.

Susan B. Anthony was a pioneer who helped spark the movement. She illegally cast a ballot in 1872, which led to her getting arrested and showed that there could possibly be an advancement in women’s rights.
