The care workers need to ensure that every client is maintaining a high standard of hygiene. They will offer fluctuating levels of support to make sure that they brush their hair, teeth, face and their hands are washed regularly. They may also need to help residents with bath or shower. It is important they do this to stop the spread of disease and illness. A failure to do so will increase the level of germs and bacteria, weakening the resident’s immune systems and making them more susceptible to disease.
