All of these can be viewed on your phone via an app you download, just by putting the device on the bottom of your bat nob. It is truly remarkable to see these advancements, and prior to this technology, I knew nothing about these metrics and did not know how to improve them. I credit the technology provided to me by Coach Peuntes for the huge improvements in my swing. This allows players to truly dissect their swing and actually understand their swing rather than just hit with a coach in a cage and get 100 rounds of overhand toss and expect to get better, which isn't a reality, especially with the accessibility you have with technology now. Blast is one example of technology used in baseball for player development; however, it is not the only one. When I asked Coach Jose Peuntes about some of the technology equipment and tools they had available while coaching for the Houston Astros, he responded, “We had Kinatrax, 4D motion, Force Plates, and Edgetronic cameras, just to name a few.” This shows how many different ways the major leagues are able to track and have access to help get the best swings out of their players. These examples all give different viewpoints and access to different ways to look at a player's swing and develop the hitter. VR is becoming huge in baseball as well, and an example could be, win reality, a VR headset that allows you to hit off certain pitchers from around the league and track your swing data. Win Reality is next-level technology, and according to Win Reality’s website, it can be purchased for as little as $29 on your VR.
