The Senior Administrative Coordinator is primarily responsible for supporting the administration at Texas Transportation Institute. Texas Transportation Institute is a research organization that aims to further transportation safety in Texas. Texas Transportation Institute (TTI) has branches across Texas. However, the College Station location is the company’s primary operational facility. The Senior Administrative Coordinator must take full responsibility for maintaining the appropriate number of student workers in the office at all times. They will be responsible for hiring and firing, as well as coordinating their schedules and providing them with tasks that will be helpful to the Administration.
The Senior Administrative Coordinator must also provide project management and support for all events and meetings, including obtaining suitable venues, logistics planning, organizing, arranging for catering, and working on site in order to ensure the event goes smoothly from setup to cleanup.
The person taking this job needs to have six or more years of administrative experience and a college degree. It is due to the broad spectrum of this job that we need someone who is organized and able to communicate effectively. This position necessitates strong organizational skills because of the heavy amount of planning and coordinating required. The Senior Administrative Coordinator is given a lot of autonomy and the person taking this position must be able to self-govern and use their time wisely. This position’s primary jobs involve interacting with people. Through email, written correspondence, phone calls, or face-to-face interaction the Administrative Coordinator will be working with and helping people during the course of his or her job. o Generate reports for members of the organization to keep organizational records organized. . o Act as a liaison between TTI administration and other organizations and offices to ensure proper communication and effectiveness in reaching our goals.
• Manage Student Workers o Interview potential new student workers. o Select among potential new hires for student workers to find the best fir for the organization. o Create the schedules for the student workers, taking into account outside factors including school and other activities to ensure proper coverage at all times. o Generate a list of tasks for the student workers each day that includes tasks that benefit the organization. o Discipline under-performing student workers by holding conduct meetings as necessary. o Delegate and assist in training of student workers to ensure proper training.
• Manage and Plan Events o Coordinate meetings with other members of the organization through email to ensure that everyone is on the same page. o Set up or arrange for setting up the physical location for the meetings or events planned. o Arrange for cleanup of the physical location for the meetings or events
