Inner-center schools usually consist of high numbers of children who are minorities and come from low-income families. Honestly, these schools are also seen as school with high levels of discipline issues. I feel that some children from these demographics are often misunderstood and it can be hard for the teachers to effectively reach the children both academically and socially. Inner-center school also lack resources and materials compared to affluent suburban schools. Affluent suburban schools also have high levels of parental involvement. I feel that you benefit from inner-city schools because you are exposed to a more diverse student population and this can lead to the broadening of perspectives, unlike affluent suburban school, which are majority high in socio-economic status and …show more content…
However, working in an affluent suburban school may offer more resources that will help enhance the classroom environment and the student’s learning. I feel that teachers can make the most difference in inner-city schools, and this is why I prefer to work in inner-city schools. I personally feel that these schools could use more dedicated teachers. I feel that I may make a bigger impact on my students live as well as my school’s climate. I feel that we should pour into communities that needs the support. Being an educator in an inner-city school would not be about the pay and resources, but about the students.
